The amended Patent Subsidizing Policy of Nantong is the joint product of the municipal intellectual property office and the municipal finance bureau, stipulating that service invention patents and patents filed under PCT will get more subsidies than before.
The amended policy outlines that each service invention patent application entering the final review process will be given 1,200 yuan instead of 800 yuan, and it will be awarded with 6,000 yuan up from 3,000 yuan once it is approved; each international patent filing will be subsidized with 30,000 yuan; utility model and design patent grants will be given 1,000 yuan and 9,000 yuan respectively, and filings for both kinds of patents will never enjoy subsidies; entities and individuals with more than three invention patent grants in a year will be honored with 2,000 yuan for each grant.
In addition, entities managing their intellectual property rights perfectly or enjoying patent advantages as well as agencies providing professional commissioning services will be commended with 10,000 yuan to 50,000 yuan subject to their achievements.
The promulgation of the amended policy enables the special fiscal funding to make a full play in stimulating indigenous innovations, improving local patent quality and promoting the healthy development of intellectual property rights. [Chinese version is available on sipo.gov.cn]
