It is learnt from Guizhou Provincial Industry and Commerce Department that Measures on Recognizing and Protecting Famous Trademarks of Guizhou Province will come into force on May 1. 

Based on the Measures, during the valid period, the holder and the user of Guizhou Famous Trademark can use Guizhou Famous Trademark or mark on the identified commodities, packing, decoration, containers, instruction books, letters, trading instruments, e-mail, advertising, exhibition and other kinds of business activities. To encourage people to apply for famous trademarks, fees related to famous trademarks such as evaluation fee and announcement fee will be paid by Guizhou provincial financial departments and any entity and individual can not collect any fees from applicants. 

According to the Measures, since the day Guizhou Famous Trademark is recognized, if the character is same as or similar to Guizhou Famous Trademark, the industrial and commercial administrations will not approve it as enterprise’s name within the same industry; the administrations for industry and commerce also refuse to register the character as enterprise name if it will mislead the public and do harm to the holder of Guizhou Famous Trademark even if it is in different industries; the main part of the Internet domain name or unregistered trademarks can not copy or imitate Guizhou Famous Trademark, can not drop a hint that it has some relations with Guizhou Famous Trademark and can not weaken the significance of Guizhou Famous Trademark and do harm to the holder of Guizhou Famous Trademark; if Guizhou Famous Trademark is infringed outside Guizhou Province, Guizhou Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce can show relevant evidence, provide consultation and guidance. [Chinese version is available on gog.com.cn]
