It is learnt that the Supreme People’s Procuratorate rewarded 53 excellent entities and 72 individuals in procuratorate sector due to their outstanding performance during the special campaign against IP violation and the manufacture and distribution of counterfeits and shoddy commodities. 

During the period from October 2010 to July 2011, the procuratorate sectors across the nation actively participated in the Special Campaign and consciously fulfill the function of legal supervision. During the campaign, 7,309 offenders were arrested in 4,006 cases related to IP infringement and the manufacture and distribution of counterfeits and shoddy commodities, 5,740 offenders involved in 2,986 cases were sued, 1,721 suspects involved in 1,261 cases were transferred to judicial organs, 49 cases were recorded with the involvement of 90 suspects, 29 suspects involved in 13 cases were detected due to their turning blind eyes to the manufacture and distribution of inferior quality goods, and 146 offenders involved in 102 cases were investigated for helping criminals to avoid punishment. Moreover, the Supreme People Procuratorate together with the Office Against Pornography and Illegal Publication, the General Administration of Press and Publication, the Ministry of Public Security and the Supreme People’s Court supervised the handling of 205 cases in 6 batches. 

During the Special Campaign, Liu Fuqian and Sun Tiecheng won Individual Second Class Merit, Li Chen, Gao Limin, Liu Yuan and Li Yuegui won Individual Third Class Merit, 9 persons including Chen Qingqiang were cited for meritorious deeds, and another 57 individuals were praised. 10 units won Collective Third Class Merit, 10 units were cited for meritorious deeds and another 33 units were praised. [Chinese version is available on cnr.cn]
