Huaibei filed 874 patent applications last year

Huaibei city of Anhui province recorded 874 patent applications in 2011, up 135% over 2010 and ranking 1st in the province with 106 percent more than the average growth rate, according to information from Huaibei Municipal Science and Technology Bureau.

Executive authorities in Huaibei jointly undertake various initiatives, including holding patent knowledge trainings and providing consultations, to help enterprises to develop patents.

In addition, in a bid to promote independent innovation capacity and scientific and technological progress, Huaibei IPO adopts a set of incentive mechanisms to support enterprises in filing patent applications. The Office granted 235,000 yuan to 191 patents approved in 2010. For granted invention, utility model and design patents, each can enjoy a subsidy of 5,000, 2,000 and 1,500 yuan respectively.
