Anhui Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce has just approved 57 trademark applications for Anhui Famous Trademarks filed by right owners in Hefei, capital city of Anhui province.

Later on, those 57 trademarks will be officially identified as Anhui Famous Trademarks after being appraised by an authoritative expert group.

The validity of such trademarks will last for four years. After that, mark holders need to apply for renewal.

According to the publicity notes issued by the Administration, in 2011, 660 enterprises in the province submitted applications for famous trademarks, in which, 442 applications secured the ratification of the Administration.

Of the 442 applications, 261 were identified as famous trademarks for the first time and 181 were for extension.

Followed by Wuhu with 31 applications and Ma’anshan with 26 applications, Hefei owned 57 out of the 261 applications, accounting for 22% and ranking the first in the province.

In addition, the 57 applications were mainly on items ranging from agricultural products (tea in particular), food and beverage to industrial products.

Moreover, the city has also filed 28 applications for famous trademark extension.
