Sichuan vice provincial governor goes to SIPO for strengthening cooperation

On March 6, Liu Jie, Vice Provincial Governor of Sichuan Province, and Ge Honglin, Mayor of Chengdu, together with a group, went to China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) to negotiate relevant affairs about strengthening cooperation between SIPO and Sichuan & Chengdu Governments.

Tian Lipu, Commisioner of SIPO, met cordially with Liu Jie and Ge Honglin. Liu Jie introduced the situation of Sichuan's IPR work to Tian, that the Provincial Party Committee and the government highly value and support IPR work, as IPR is important to improve economic competitiveness, strengthen independent innovation ability and energetically motivate the commercialization of research findings. On behalf of Sichuan government, Liu Jie then showed gratitude to SIPO and especially Tian, for the care and support during Sichuan's earthquake relief work, and hoped to get further support from SIPO. Ge Honglin introduced Chengdu's development situation, showing gratitude for SIPO's support to Chengdu in the establishment of National IPR Model City.

Tian Lipu gave full affirmation to the achievements of Sichuan and Chengdu's IPR achievements, as well as the great success in economic and social development after 3 years' relief and reconstruction.. With a good foundation, Sichuan's IPR work always goes aheadamong its counterparts, said Tian, and SIPO will support Sichuan in this regard as always by taking a further step to strengthen cooperation, promoting the implementation of National Intellectual Property Strategy in Sichuan and Chengdu and offering strong backup for the local economic growth and the west development.

Leaders of relevant departments of SIPO, Sichuan Vice Executive Secretary Cai Jing, Director General of Sichuan Provincial IP Office Huang Feng and Director of Chengdu IP Office Liu Xiaoliu also attended this meeting.
