On March 03, 2012, Apple's trademark filings for "Cards" were published in both Europe and Hong Kong China. Apple is seeking protection for the "Cards" logo in both color and black and white versions. The designs will be protected under three international Classes. The "Cards" app is available from the App Store for free if your device is running iOS 5 or higher. The Cards app is available in many languages – so check it out if you haven't already.
Apple has filed for the Cards trademark in Europe under application 010692143 which covers International Classes 9, 16 and 35. These classes cover such matters as computers, mail sorting/handling/processing, stamps, design services and more. In contrast, Apple's Hong Kong filing under application 302177622 is noted as only being filed under International Class 9.
Apple asserts a claim of priority based on Trinidad and Tobago application number 44265 filed in late 2011.
