Vice Governor of Guizhou Province Xie Qingsheng attended and addressed an intellectual property conference convened in Guizhou on Feb. 27.
Last year, the province saw a 70.1% rise in patent applications to 7,510; invention patent filings amounted to 2,358 therein, up 78.4%, making Guizhou rank the 1st across the country in terms of the growth rate of such filings.
"This year is a crucial period for carrying out the Twelfth Five-Year Plan," said Xie, "Relevant departments in the province should get ready for the opportunities and challenges brought by the rapid economic growth. The development process indicators of Guizhou province are expected to top all its counterparts across the country soon after."
Xie also urged relevant departments to further implement the intellectual property strategies and step up the creation, utilization, administration and protection of intellectual property rights.
