Heilongjiang vows to promote IPR strategies

Since IPR strategies were comprehensively implemented in 2011, Heilongjiang has adopted a series of measures such as increasing public IP awareness, establishing IP exemplary entities, carrying out IP protection programs and improving patent support and service systems.

In 2011, the province saw a double rise in patent applications to 23,432 after the number broke ten thousand for the first time in 2010. The growing speed of patent filings ranked the 1st across the country.

As of December 2011, the gross living invention patents in the province have amounted to 5,784, up 32.6%, equal to 1.51 among every ten thousand residents, ranking the 12th among its counterparts in China.

In the keynote speech made by Vice Governor Zhang Jianxing at 2012 Heilongjiang IPR working meeting on February 24, he applauded the achievements made in 2011 and stressed on the IPR development in the future.

Zhang also urged relevant departments to enhance the indigenous innovations, promote IPR transformation and utilization, strengthen the IPR protection and improve IPR service systems to get ready for the new opportunities and challenges of economic growth.

At the meeting, several groups and individuals were also commended for their efforts and accomplishments made in 2011 in this regard.
