In 2011, 29 members of Beijing Anti-piracy League coordinated with public security organs, groups dedicated to wiping out pornography and other illegal products, press and publication administrations and copyright offices to crack 1,015 IP cases.

In those cases, 39 illicit dens hiding pirate materials were destroyed; 705 stores and 16 enterprises producing and selling pirate publications and 267 schools using pirate materials were uncovered; 1,348,400 copies of pirated books and audio-video disks valued at 26,051,400 yuan were confiscated; 29 suspects were investigated for criminal responsibility.

Last year, the League was also reported to help enforcement departments to uncover six major and serious cases on piracy. According to incomplete statistics, lawyers nominated by members of the League handled a total of 11,339 online stores selling infringing and pirate goods. It is worth mentioning that four major publishing houses including Higher Education Press, People’s medical Publishing House, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and China Renmin University Press informed Internet service providers to delete 104,389 infringing links.
