Gansu saw its patent applications exceed 5,000 in 2011

Patent applications and grants in Gansu province in 2011 recorded 5,287 and 2,383, up 48.6% and 27.6% respectively, in which, invention patent applications and grants reached 2,105 and 552, increasing by 41.9% and 58.2% separately.

In addition, the province owned a total of 1,565 living invention patents, equal to 0.612 invention patents among every ten thousand of its local residents.
