Jiangsu: Fabric, LED among gold prize winners

Gold prize winners in the Jiangsu Patent Awards were recently unveiled, with each awarded 80,000 yuan ($12,700).

Winning entries include a waterproof and wrinkle-free fabric and a LED surgical lamp that also won a design prize in Germany last year.

Local authorities said they want a 40 percent increase in patent approvals to rank Jiangsu second among provincial economies.
