It is learnt from Guizhou Provincial Intellectual Property Office on February 17 that this year, the province issued a series of IP promotion measures such as awarding and supporting IP creation and protection to foster a group of advantageous enterprises with indigenous IP and famous brands.
In terms of rewarding and supporting IP creation and protection, Guizhou will subsidize fees for invention patent application, examination and agency. Enterprises recognized as national or provincial IP advantageous ones will get a subsidy of 500,000 yuan or 200,000 yuan; those that win China Patent Gold Medal or China Design Gold Medal or obtain well-known trademarks will be subsidized 500,000 yuan and those that win China Patent Award of Excellent and China Design Award of Excellent will be given 100,000 yuan. Moreover, businesses that buy invention patent technologies and core technologies and industrialize them in Guizhou Province and generate profits will be subsidized 20% of patent fees but can not exceed 2 mln yuan. Besides, the province will give a discount to patent pledge loan but the proportion can not surpass 50%. To the newly identified IP counseling agencies and patent agencies, Guizhou will give 300,000 yuan and 100,000 yuan as subsidies, respectively.
Concerning the cultivation of IP advantageous enterprises, Guizhou put forward that during the period of the Twelfth Fiver-Year Plan, the province plans to foster 150 enterprises or groups with strong IP advantages, innovative ability and market competitiveness. Till the year 2015, 150 items of key technology patents or patent clusters are expected to foster in key advantageous industries on the purpose of forming a pile of well-known and Guizhou famous trademarks.
In the development of IP strategic research and early-warning, Guizhou initiated IP examining mechanism in important S&T projects and will give priority to industrialized programs with indigenous IP in order to promote IP use. [Chinese version is available on Guiyang Evening News]
