Three central departments to launch appraisals of influential events, cases and figures in 2011 copyright protection

2012/02/10

China's National Copyright Administration, the State Intellectual Property Office and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce will start to collect recommendation of influential events, cases and figures emerged in the process of copyright protection in 2011, said a notice jointly issued by the three departments. The result will be released during the publicity week around the World Intellectual Property Day on April 26.

Incidents that can be nominated as significant events should be important matters in copyright protection, laws and regulations formulated or revised that are of great influence to copyright protection, or other typical and important events.

The principle for recommendation of influential cases is to select typical and representative copyright cases in administrative enforcement and judicial trials that had been concluded with clear disposition opinions by the end of 2011.

While for candidates for the award of influential figures, they are required to be representatives from administrative, judicial departments or businesses and civil organizations who have made prominent contributions and set great examples in the revision of copyright-related laws and policies, the creation, utilization, protection and administration of copyright or have made great achievements in academic and theoretical research regarding copyright protection.
