Lately, Yinchuan Municipal Intellectual Property Office (Yinchuan IPO) was awarded honorary title of National Advanced Entity in Patent Business by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO).
In recent years, Yinchuan IPO actively carried out IP strategy and greatly improved the ability in IP creation, utilization, protection and management. In 2011, the first year of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, the patent filings reached 637, taking up 59% of the total amount of 1,079 in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region; applications for invention patents and grants respectively increased by 46.1% and 62.8% compared with the year 2010.
It is informed that applications for invention patents were 282, occupying 63.8% of the total number of 442 in the region, rising by 46.1% compared with the same period of the previous year; service invention applications were 440, taking up 59.6% of the total number of 738 in the whole region; patent grants were 359, accounting for 58.6% of the total number of 613. Meanwhile, invention patent grants were 70, occupying 68% of the total amount of 103 in the region, rising by 62.8% compared with the same period of the previous year; and service patent grants were 240, accounting for 59.3% of the total service invention applications.
