On the morning of February 3, the Ministerial Joint Meeting on National Intellectual Property Strategy organized the sixth liaison officer meeting in Beijing. Member of the joint meeting and Vice Director of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) He Hua chaired and addressed the meeting.
The meeting believed that the strategy implementation work achieved notable results in 2011. According to the deployment of the State Council and the requirements of the joint meeting, the relevant authorities earnestly carried out and almost finished 176 measures in 7 aspects regulated in the Promotion Plan for the Implementation of the National Intellectual Property Strategy in 2011. The authorities also did much fruitful work in optimizing IP policy system, improving IP protection environment, raising IP creation and utilization ability, lifting IP service level, fostering IP talents, and promoting cultural publicity and foreign exchange.
He Hua required competent departments to pay more attention to actual effect, enhance liaison between member departments and exert the role of the ministerial joint meeting, attach great importance to foreign exchange and take the initiative in formulating new international rules, and place emphasis upon basic research.
The meeting also discussed the Promotion Plan for the Implementation of the National Intellectual Property Strategy in 2012 and China’s Action Plan on Intellectual Property Protection in 2012.
In 2011, the 28 member departments of the joint meeting formulated and revised 43 IP laws and regulations as well as regulatory documents, issued 102 policies and measures, launched 37 IP enforcement campaign and built 16 service platform. [Chinese version is available on SIPO.gov.cn]
