Anhui: annual applications for invention patents surpass 10,000

The latest statistics released by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) shows that in 2011, Anhui Province filed 10,982 applications for invention patents, ranking the tenth in the nation with a rise of 71.7%, and the amplitude ascended to the third position across China; invention patent grants were 2,026, growing by 82.3%.

Since the year 2008 when the annual patent applications in Anhui Province successfully outnumbered 10,000, the amounts of patent applications and grants both kept good momentum of growth. In 2011, the numbers of patent applications and grants in the whole province both ranked among the top ten.

Anhui Provincial Intellectual Property Office promoted the quality of patent applications by taking measures such as scientific encouragement and reasonable guidance.
