Eight items of expenses, such as registration fee, have now been exempted from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2014 in Copyright Protection Center of China (CPCC) when small and micro-sized enterprises come to register copyright for their computer software products, according to a newly released CPCC's document, as reported from China's National Copyright Administration. It is estimated that the exempted register fee will amount to almost 10 million yuan in those three years.
Copyright registration for computer software increased rapidly during the Eleventh Five-Year Period, from more than 20 thousand in 2006 to 98 thousand in 2010 and even totally over 100 thousand in 2011. It is expected that an explosive growth will be seen after the exemption takes effect. [Chinese version is available on legaldaily.com.cn]
