Recently, an annual watch report on intellectual property 2011 was issued by the School of Journalism and Communication of Peking University. Deputy Director of the School Xu Hong stated that the report was made by students of Epson news seminar on intellectual property with two months efforts.
The report focused on the review and analysis of reports in connection with intellectual property by main media in 2011 as well as top ten IP cases in China.
Review results showed that Chinese media insufficiently reported on IP issues with single information resource and inadequate explanatory reports.
Industry experts claimed that the annual report was the only one that reviewed and analyzed news reports in connection with IP issues, and accurately reflected the status and level of national IP news reports. It also objectively valued quantity, quality and existed questions in domestic IP news reports, providing valuable reference data.
20 students from main media including Xinhua News Agency, Guangming Daily, China Youth Daily, Sina, Sohu and China Business Times successfully graduated from the fifth Epson news seminar on January 6. Famed experts from governmental departments and Peking University delivered courses for the seminar. [Chinese version is available on cbt.com.cn]
