Shandong: Yantai handing out over 3mln patent subsidy

In 2011, Shandong, a city in Shandong province, handed out twice patent subsidies, totaling 3.04 million yuan and covering 5,240 patent projects. 

There are 1,775 invention applications, with 411 being granted; 776 utility model service grants; 1,051 utility model non-service grants; 423 design service grants and 804 design non-service grants.

Subsidizing patents  is an important measure to implement patent strategy. It is aimed to bring into the guiding role of policy and encourage innovation. Since 2004, Yantai has handed out 15541 thousand yuan worth of subsidy.  [Chinese version is available on qlwb.com.cn]
