Shaanxi: Patent applications in Xi'an broke 20,000

Patent applications and invention patent applications in Xi'an, a city in Shaanxi province, broke 20,000 and 10,000 barrier respectively, according to information released by Xi’an Municipal Science and Technology Bureau on January 9.

Statistics show that in the first eleven months in 2011, Xi’an saw approved patents reach 2,448, a 63.8% rise from a year earlier and taking up 86.7% of the total number across the province.

In addition, both the number of invention patent applications and that of grants in Xi'an ranked the fifth among vice-provincial cities in China. [Chinese version is available on sanqindaily.com]
