A trademark infringement lawsuit filed against the China welfare lottery management center and its Beijing branch was recently dismissed by the city's Second Intermediate People's Court.
The complaint filed by a man surnamed Ge claimed the lottery uses a logo that is the same as his registered trademark. He asked for 1 million yuan in compensation and an order to cease using it.
The court rejected the claim because it found the lottery and its logo pre-date registration of Ge's trademark. It also ruled that the two logos were different in appearance.
