Shanghai has attached more importance to IPR protection at exhibitions as hundreds of international exhibitions were conducted in this renowned city every year.

From this year, officials of Shanghai IPO have been dispatched to work on site to solve disputes and ensure a fair environment for exhibitors, making great progress in this regard.

In 2011 alone, Shanghai IPO has dispatched enforcement officials and specialists for 231 person-times to 39 large exhibitions, in which, 37 were international exhibitions, taking up 94.87%.

159 patent disputes were appropriately handled and exhibitors involved in 103 of those disputes were prohibited to display their products. 8 disputes were successfully mediated and another 23 disputes which could not been mediated were transferred to relevant departments with pictures taken on site as proof.

The excellent work done by IP officers has been highly appreciated by domestic and international exhibitors. [Chinese version is available on sipo.gov.cn]
