Chongqing signs strategic cooperation agreement with Guangdong

Chongqing Municipal People's Government and People's Government of Guangdong Province signed the Chongqing • Guangdong Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on December 11, 2011. Five days later, Director of Guangdong IPO Tao Kaiyuan led a delegation to Chongqing IPO to discuss IPR strategic cooperation.

The cooperation is aimed at promoting regional economic structure adjustment and industrial transfer and enhancing the core competitiveness of Chongqing and Guangdong. The two sides will focus on intellectual property rights to promote industrial development and social development. It is expected to establish a regional promotion mechanism on patent technology transfer so as to advance inter-regional transfer, transformation and implementation of of patented technology.

Chongqing IPO will also urge the cooperation on production, teaching and research, improve the regional technological innovation level and strengthen the cooperation on geographical indications of agricultural products.

It is reported that as early as in December 2009, Chongqing and Guangdong signed the Agreement on comprehensive cooperation. The Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement singed this month will further promote the trade cooperation, help building a unified and standardized market system and support each other to open up new markets.
