Guangdong: 9,616 patents securing subsidies

In the second half of 2011, 9,616 eligible patent applications (5,998 from individuals and 3,618 from enterprises) secured over 17 million yuan worth of government subventions, according to information released by Dongguan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau.

It is found that among applications submitted by individuals, furniture design applications accounted for a large part.

Last year, patent applications in the city exceeded 20 thousand. The Bureau encouraged enterprises to file more invention patents with high quality and suggested that they would render subsidies to more invention patents.
