Hainan: Uncovered cases of infringement and counterfeit involving 130 million yuan

According to information released by Hainan Provincial Public Security Organ, a special campaign on combating intellectual property infringement and manufacture and sales of counterfeit and shoddy commodities came to an end. During the period, 75 cases of fake products involving 130 million yuan were cracked, 45 illicit dens producing and selling spurious commodities were destroyed, 28 criminal gangs were dismantled.

Since the launch of the special campaign in November 2010, the Organ has formed a special leading group to conduct the campaign and considered it as an assessment element for public security organs at all levels in the province.

Jia Dongjun, head of the Organ indicated that his department would enhance communications with enterprises to crack down on serious cases, disrupt criminal gangs and destroy illicit dens. As of the end of November this year, the police have detained 44 suspects with only one on the run.

In addition, the Organ actively promoted the effective long-term enforcement mechanism in collaboration with 12 administrative departments, aiming at thoroughly combating IP crimes. [
