Bengbu, a city of Anhui province, has passed the check and acceptance procedure for national IP pilot city. Officials from the State Intellectual Property Office, Anhui Bureau of Science and Technology and Anhui Provincial Intellectual Property Office and others attended the meeting.
The check and acceptance group heard the reports made by Bengbu IPO on their pilot work. The former asked about the measured implemented to promote patent applications and patent transfer. After review, the check and acceptance group unanimously approved Bengbu as an IP pilot city.
Chen Qitao, Secretary of Bengbu Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of Bengbu Municipal People's Congress, said Bengbu exerted great efforts on the IP pilot work and carried out a series of measures to stimulate innovation, optimize environment and promote the transfer and utilization of innovation fruits. Bengbu is applying for a programme of national patent-collateralized loan pilot city.
Chen Qitao pointed out innovation is the driving force. "We will give strong industrial base, rich science resources and convenient traffic conditions into full play. We will exert greater efforts to enhance IPR creation, utilization, protection and administration," said he.
Chen Qitao stressed that the relevant departments and units at all levels should further enhance the understanding of intellectual property rights, strengthen leadership, encourage innovation, strengthen IPR protection, and continue to promote the IP work of Bengbu to a new level so as to accelerate economic and social development.
