Shenzhen courts organized an IPR Circuit Tribunal to provide judicial services to exhibitors at the six-day 2011 China High-tech Fair, which kicked off on November 16.
First launched in 1999, China High-tech Fair has been successfully held for 12 years and has been well recognized as an influential platform to present the achievements of China's opening up in high-tech field and to facilitate products industrialization. Themed as "Promoting international innovative cooperation and accelerating the transfer of economic growth mode", this year's event is constituted by six segments, including a trade fair, a product exhibition and a forum, among others. All the seven sponsors of the fair, such as the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission, have participated in the exhibition collectively.
The IP Circuit Tribunal is made up of by experienced IP judges from municipal and district-level courts in Shenzhen. During the six-day fair, the tribunal will take up duties like promoting public IP awareness, receiving IP infringement complaints, mediating IP disputes and providing legal advice, among others. It has also prepared written materials to distribute to exhibitors to promote IP protection.
