From November 1st, 2010 to October 31st, 2011, a total of 950 patents in Huainan, a city of Anhui province, got 1,586 thousand yuan worth of subsidies rendered by the city's intellectual property office.
As of the end of October, the city has received 1,623 patent applications, ranking the seventh in the province and exceeding the goal of 1,500 applications set by the municipal government.
Of all those applications, 276 were on inventions, accounting for 17.0%, 667 were on utility models and 670 were related to designs.
The city has made a breakthrough in the number of total applications and invention patent applications.
A total of 612 patents were granted, in which 41 were on inventions, up over 300%.
The increasing number of invention patent applications and grants indicated that the quality of the city's patent applications and grants has been greatly improved.
