British authoritative magazine selecting out 50 individuals and enterprises promoting market development

The British authoritative magazine Managing Intellectual Property selected 50 influential individuals and enterprises promoting market development out from 50 issues of its magazine. Tian Lipu, Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) of China, was honored as one of them.

The magazine said SIPO has been in steady development and playing an increasingly important role in the international arena under Tian's leadership. Today, SIPO has become one of the world's most important patent organs. Since Tian became the commissioner in 2005, he paid more attention to patent examination capacity building. At present, the number of patent examiners has greatly increased. SIPO pays more attention to patent quality when patent applications maintain rapid growth. The magazine said the Chinese government attached more and more attention to the development of intellectual property rights and regard it as one way to speed up the transformation of economic development mode. Tian plays an important role in this regard.

Managing Intellectual Property was founded in July 2003. Since its publication, it has reported a series of influential individuals and enterprises promoting market development. To celebrate the publication of its 50th issue, the magazine selected 50 influential individuals and enterprises reported during the past 8 years. It is reported that Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) David Kappos was also on the list.
