2011/11/08

The State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) signed a cooperative agreement with the People's Government of Shaanxi Province in Xi'an on November 4, 2011.

In 2001, the SIPO and Shaanxi government carried out a patent-oriented IP pilot program in the only state-level agricultural high-tech industry demonstration zone of Yangling. The newly signed agreement marks the official cooperation between SIPO and Shaanxi Provincial Intellectual Property Office and will provide strong support for Shaanxi to build an innovative and rich province.

According to the agreement, the SIPO and Shaanxi government will focus on the transformation of Shaanxi's economic development mode in the next five years. The implementation of IPR strategy will help turn Shaanxi's scientific and educational advantages into economic advantages, promote export-oriented economic development, realize agricultural modernization and carry out personnel trainings. It is to fully improve the IPR creation, utilization, protection and administration capabilities of Shaanxi, setting an example for western provinces to implement IPR strategy.

Commissioner of SIPO Tian Lipu, Deputy Commissioner of SIPO He Hua and Governor of Shaanxi Province Zhao Zhengyong attended the signing ceremony. [Chinese version is available on ip.people.com]
