Since Hefei was recognized as the national trademark strategy implementation demonstration city in June 1st 2010, the city's administration for industry and commerce have conscientiously assisted enterprises to boost trademark development. The number of applications for well-known and famous trademarks during this period hit the historic high record.
In mid August 2011, the administration decided to recommend 89 trademarks to apply for 2011 Anhui Famous Trademarks.
Application amount hit historic high record
Trademarks are the core competitiveness and intangible asset of enterprises. Since last year, the administration has visited enterprises and provided services to foster local brands, meanwhile enterprises showed their unprecedented enthusiasm in fostering trademarks.
Private enterprises also achieved significant accomplishments. Of the 89 recommended trademarks, 90% were submitted by private enterprises.
An official named Ding Yuanyuan said that the administration did not only pay attention to the application quantity but also the quality. It has enhanced the regulation on preliminary review and conducted the examination and inspection in line with relevant provisions especially in food and drug industries. Enterprises that can not meet the application requirements will not be recommended.
Trademark applications of agricultural products increased
During the process of implementing trademark strategies, Hefei focused on the transformation of economic development modes and the optimization and upgrading of economic structures.
The industrial distribution of these 89 recommended trademarks has become more rational, covering 24 classes of all the 45 international trademark categories. The proportion of service trademark applications increased to 20.45%, covering industries such as tourism, catering, trade and information services.
Meanwhile, there is an increasing trend for trademark applications of agricultural products with only 5 in 2010 and 19 in 2011, accounting for 21.59% of the total applications.
Famous trademarks amount ranked 1st in the province
This May, three trademarks of Hefei were identified by the General Administration for Industry and Commerce as China Well-known Trademarks. In the second six months this year, 6 enterprises have applied for China Well-known Trademarks which are being reviewed by the General Administration now.
As of now, Hefei has owned 21 China Well-known Trademarks and 181 Anhui Famous Trademarks, accounting for 37% and 14% of the total amount in the province. [Chinese version is available on epaper.hf365.com]
