Since identified as a national intellectual property demonstration city in 2009, Taizhou has kept an increasing trend in generating and implementing indigenous intellectual property. At the end of next month, the State Intellectual Property Office will come to check the results Taizhou has made in this regard.
According to statistics, Taizhou had filed 53,126 patent applications from 2001 to 2010, with 39,315 being granted. In 2010 alone, there were 10,558 patent grants, making a breakthrough of 10 thousand for the first time. From January to August this year, patent applications amounted to 7,459, up 9% over the same period of 2010.In 2010, there were 7,637 trademark applications. Registrations totaled 70,649, ranking the fourth in Zhejiang Province. Up to now, there are 225 provincial famous trademarks and 384 municipal famous trademarks.
In addition, Taizhou helps cultivating 4 national IP pilot enterprises, 67 provincial patent demonstration enterprises and 119 municipal patent demonstration enterprises. 50% of enterprises filing invention patent applications have grown to high-tech enterprises at various levels.
