Gansu: Lanzhou conducts its first-ever selection of "Famous Trademark"

Lanzhou will conduct its first-ever "Famous Trademark" selection in late August, in an effort to establish a graded structure in trademark strategy and promote the implementation of the strategy in local enterprises. It is provided that any natural persons, legal persons or other organizations that have valid registered trademarks approved by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce are allowed to apply for the selection, as long as they believe their trademarks are eligible for the following requirements:

  The trademarks in question shall
  (1) be registered and be used for two consecutive years, involving in no disputes regarding ownership,
  (2) enjoy good reputation and be influential locally, and
  (3) be well recognized among players in the same industry in Lanzhou.

  Goods attached with the trademarks shall
  (1) be reliable in quality and be manufactured in accordance with national standards, receiving no complaints from consumers,
  (2) have great sales revenues and market shares (those having foreign markets are preferred), and
  (3) invest sufficiently in commercial promotion, with ads covering wide audience and being well recognized.

  In addition, owners of the trademarks in question shall have well-rounded management regulations and strong self-protection awareness, with no violations of trademark laws in the past two years. 

The assessment is due to terminate before the end of this year and has been divided into four stages: mobilization (August 18 to August 31), examination in the first instance (September 1 to September 30), investigation and review (October 1 to October 25) and results publication (October 26 to November 25).
