Sichuan: Nanchong's genuine software initiative affirmed by the local government

Duan Jianling, Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial Copyright Bureau, headed an inspection group to check the progress of genuine software initiative in Nanchong city on August 15.

Reportedly, Nanchong has confiscated 2,000 pieces of pirated software and electronic publications and 8,000 pirated audio-visual products; destroyed 24,567 volumes or discs of illicit publications and 8,524 pieces or discs of illicit electronic publications.

The inspection group fully approved Nanchong's efforts in promoting use of genuine software and required Nanchong to further strengthen IPR protection and combat infringement and piracy.

Li Xiaosong, Secretory of Nanchong government, attended the meeting.
