The opening ceremony of an online achievements exhibition of the special campaign against intellectual property rights infringements and counterfeiting was launched in Beijing on July 11. Wen Jiabao, Premier and Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, wrote a salutatory address to the exhibition, while Wang Qishan, Vice Premier, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chief of the National Leading Group of the Special Campaign, attended the ceremony and launched the opening of the online display.
The ceremony was hosted by Bi Jingquan, Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council and Deputy Chief of the National Leading Group of the Special Campaign and was attended by Ministry of Commerce Chen Deming, Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office Tian Lipu, as well as chiefs from 26 member departments of the leading group of the special crackdown.
The exhibition, with a comprehensive presenting of the attainments on cracking major cases and building a long-term protection mechanism, fully demonstrates the commitment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to intellectual property protection and their efforts in building an innovation-oriented country. It was divided into five sections, i.e. Deployment of the Special Operation, Protection of IPR, Combat Production and Sale of Fake Goods, Software Legalization and Outlook, with each providing information services such as laws and regulations inquiry. The exhibition also set several special columns for audience to leave messages and file complaints.
Many media and technical approaches were also adopted to facilitate the bilingual exhibition, such as the establishment of a virtual exhibition on the internet and the employment of the latest digital technology used to display characters, images and videos.
