Yuchai Group announced on June 29 that it has built China's first diesel engine that meets the Euro VI emission standard.

The 6L-60 prototype is the result of a four-year joint effort by Yuchai and a lab at Tianjin University.

"The success of the prototype shows Yuchai is able to develop world-class diesel engines featuring low emissions and high efficiency," said Yan Ping, chairman of the group.

With more than 600 patents, Yuchai has been honored as a "leader in China's green power".
