Sichuan: Yibin confiscated more than 20,000 pieces of pirated vulgar audio-visual products

Yibin, a city in Sichuan Province, had made remarkable results in the fight against pornography, illegal publications and piracy. It seized more than 20,000 pieces of pirated vulgar audio-visual products and over 9,000 illegal publications; filed 13 cases and closed down 6 venues producing or selling illegal products.

In accordance, Yibin arranged a series of special campaigns against the trafficking of pirated discs and illegal publications, such as rectifying publication market, regulating areas around schools, fighting against piracy, confiscating vulgar audio-visual products, to name a few. In addition, Yibin also conducted the "2011 National Destruction Activity of Pirated and Illegal Publications Campaign---Sichuan Yibin" and the "4.26 IP Publicity Week" & "Green Bookmark Action 2011". All efforts were made to create a purified social culture environment. Yibin was thus awarded as "Advanced Collectives" by the National Working Group of Eliminating Pornography and Illegal Publications on May 18.
