The Achievement Exhibition of the Special Operation against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting starting in October last year went public in Beijing on July 11. Premier of the State Council Wen Jiabao wrote a guide for the Achievement Exhibition. Wang Qishan, Vice Premier of the State Council and the Special Action Group Leader, opened the achievement exhibition.
A series of major cases raising concern both nationally and internationally have been investigated and a batch of illegal enterprises were exposed, which effectively restrained IP infringements and counterfeiting. Though the special action will come to an end, IPR protection still remains a long-term, systematic and arduous task.
The online achievement exhibition consists of five parts, namely, Deployment of the Special Operation, Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, Combat Production and Sale of Fake Goods, Software Legalization and Outlook, which are on display through HD video, photos, flash, three-dimensional animation and other digital means. The exhibition will last for three months, and general public can browse them by logging in www.ipraction.cn or ipr.cntv.cn.
Minister of Commerce Chen Deming said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition that the online exhibition comprehensively displayed various achievements made in the special action and showed Chinese government's determination in combating counterfeits. Protecting intellectual property and combating counterfeits is "the fundamental requirement for maintaining China's market economy order and protecting innovation and creativity."
