Twelve departments including Shanghai Municipal Economic and Infomatization Commission and Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Office jointly issued the "Several Opinions on the Development of Shanghai Creative Design Industry".
The Opinions stressed the necessity to strengthen the application and protection of intellectual property in the area of creative design industry.
One of the initiatives is to encourage creative businesses and individuals to strengthen the protection of design fruits, timely file patent and copyright registrations, combine intellectual property protection with enterprise's credit system construction, encourage industry associations to strengthen IPR protection and crack down on IPR violations and handle IPR violations in accordance with laws and regulations.
The second proposal suggests to establish a sound public service platform for creative design industry to transact intellectual property achievements so as to promote the effective circulation of intellectual property results.
The third is to encourage and support citizens, legal persons to start businesses by the means of intellectual property pledging, encourage institutions and designers to use their designs on product or packaging or other related items and encourage right holders to make full use of intellectual property rights to safeguard their legal rights and interests.
