A working conference, chaired by Jiang Zengwei, Vice Minister of Commerce and Director General of the national leading group of the special campaign on fighting against violations of intellectual property rights and counterfeits, was organized on 28 June to make deployment for the special crackdown. Persons in charge in leading groups at provincial level attended the meeting.

After hearing suggestions and opinions from attendees, Jiang urged competent authorities at all levels across the country to coordinate with each other and organize exhibitions in a bid to demonstrate the achievements made in the special campaign and show the central government's efforts in fighting against IPR infringement. Relevant departments were required to take effective measures to curb IPR violations and counterfeits, deter offenders and increase the public awareness on IPR protection.

Jiang emphasized that the provincial leading groups should thoroughly supervise the regional progress of the special campaign in certain areas for the second time and the inspections should reflect the practical situations in different regions, not only reporting progress, but also disclosing existing problems.

He also asked to enhance media coverage of the special campaign, aiming to fully demonstrate the achievements of the current stage and reveal China's determination in IPR promotion and protection.
