From June 13 to 18, Xiao Xingwei, CPC Leading Group Member of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and Head of Central Commission for Discipline Inspections of the CPC in SIPO, was on a working visit to Shandong to inspect their performance on intellectual property protection and promotion.

During the visit, Xiao heard the working reports of Shandong Intellectual Property Office and commended relevant departments in the province for the significant accomplishments achieved in intellectual property promotion and protection. He was quite impressed by its comprehensive IP legislation network and its patent administrative enforcement capacity, as well as the increased innovation capability in enterprises, universities and scientific research institutions in the province.

Xiao urged relevant departments to make great efforts to step up intellectual property protection in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period by making comprehensive and practical working plans, implementing effective IP strategies, developing efficient service in patent agencies and increasing the public consciousness on IP protection.

During the investigation period in Shandong, Xiao inspected the IP development status in several cities, including Dongying, Yantai, Weifang, Zibo and Jinan and also visited some leading enterprises in the province, such as Shandong Luye Pharma, GoerTek and Shengrui Transmission Cooperation Limited.
