A pilot project of promoting the professional competence of patent agencies launched in Chongqing

A pilot project of promoting the professional competence of patent agencies represented by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) was launched in Sichuan. More than 60 representatives from Sichuan Municipal Intellectual Property and other related departments attended the training.

Officers in charge of the Examination Cooperation Center of SIPO introduced the significance of the project. They added that they hoped Chongqing patent agencies could benefit from the training. Lai Bangfan, Director of Chongqing Science, Education, Culture, Public Health and Sports Committee, CPPCC, expressed that "Intellectual property is the spirit of a city, the embodiment of the local economy." He hoped that Chongqing patent agencies could bring into play as a bridge to serve Chongqing's IP development and economic development.

Later, experts from the Examination Cooperation Center of SIPO gave a one-day training to patent agents on basic operations such as how to write patent application documents and reply to the examination opinions.
