Jilin: Changchun Administration for Industry and Commerce handling trademark assessments

2011/05/30

On May 24, Wang Yingmei, director of the trademark department of Changchun Administration for Industry and Commerce, said in a conference convened by the municipal administration for industry and commerce, supported by Changchun trademark association, that the authority would like to help local enterprises to convert their trademarks from intangible asset to tangible asset by evaluating them.

Trademarks could represent not only the quality of products and services provided by their owners, but also a company’s reputation and image. However, most enterprises only laid their emphasis on trademarks’ value in use.

Nowadays, enterprises could adopt a new financing way by changing their trademarks from intangible asset into tangible asset via professional assessment by relevant administrations.

Taking Ammon Foods for example, it has successfully won the bank’s loan by assessing their trademarks.

Trademarks that passed the evaluation are able to play a very important role in enterprise’s investment programs and business negotiations.
