China Officially Initiated Intelligent Patent Search and Service System

On April 26, the intelligent patent search and service system successfully independent-developed by China's State Intellectual Property Office in the past two years was officially initiated in Beijing.

It is reported that the system is similar to the digital search system of libraries which can provide comprehensive patent search services for examiners and the public, thus it has an intelligent feature. It contains 11 sub-systems and 639 functional modules, among which the public section has four sub-systems and provides conventional search and diagram search and other searching methods, containing the most complete and most extensive data resources of patent documents so far in China. As at the end of 2010, the system has included more than 80 million patent documents data, more than 50 million full-text image data, more than 23 million full-text text data and a large number of auxiliary data from 98 countries, regions and organizations.
