Crack down on Key Internet IP Infringement Case, Over 300 Websites are Involved

On 5th May, Hefei (the capital of Anhui Province) police cracked down on a key Internet IP infringement case, arresting 26 suspects, detaining over 130 computers and servers, and closing down over 800 infringing websites. It is a major case uncovered by Anhui province associating with Internet IP infringement.

The company “Hefei Yilin Network Technology Co., Ltd.” was registered in March 2009, according to the police report. Without the authorization of SNDA game, Yilin Network purchased server simulators imitating the popular online game, “The Legend of Mir 2” of SNDA. After modifying the simulator, Yilin Network sold the simulator program online and offered backup services including server setup, opening network and advertisement publishing. Close to 11 million Yuan and over 300 websites were involved in the major infringement case.
