In 2010, Hunan Provincial Intellectual Property Office inspected 2,945 leading enterprises in 77 industrial parks in the province, aiming to promote the creation, implementation, protection and management of IPR. After thorough examination, 9 industrial parks were identified as the first batch of the provincial IPR demonstration industrial parks, including Changsha Bio & Information Industry Park (CBIP), Tin Sum Zhuzhou High-tech Industrial Park and Jiuhua Economic Zone of Xiangtan City. Later on, their experience will be shared by their counterparts in the province. In addition, these 9 parks have the priority to be recommended as national IPR demonstration industrial parks.

It was learnt that Hunan Provincial Intellectual Property Office has formulated a tailor-made training plan on IPR protection for these parks. Based on their status quo on technology and economic development, these parks will strive to improve IPR management mechanisms, hire qualified IP talents, increase enterprises’ core competitiveness and stimulate the economic development mode transformation.
