Apple Is Taken to Court in China for Alleged Infringement of Videos

It is reported that Apple sold authorized videos of "Painted Skin" in its online App Store, and was taken to court by the copyright owner LeTV.com, claiming 100000 yuan for damages. It is the first time that Apple was sued for video infringement in China. Currently, there are a number of infringing Chinese videos and books on Apple’s App Store.

According to the attorney of the LeTV.com, in addition to "Painted Skin", LeTV.com has also found evidence of infringement of films like "House of Flying Daggers", "Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles", "Saviour of the Soul" and many others, and LeTV.com is going to initiate a litigation chain against Apple. The lawsuit against Apple this time will undoubtedly draw social attention to the difficulties in protecting the rights of videos on mobile phones.
