The number of layout-designs of integrated circuits in Shanghai gets a top rank in China

The number of annual registrations of layout-designs of integrated circuits (IC) in Shanghai increased from 47 to 281 from 2004 to 2010, accounting for about 29% in China for six successive years from 2004 to 2010. The number of applications on IC layout designs delivered by Shanghai local enterprises ranked 1st across the country.

From 2004 to 2010, there was an increasing trend in the applications for IC layout-designs in Shanghai. Hua Hong NEC, Shanghai Belling and Shanghai Fudan Microelectronics are among the largest IC layout design applicants. In 2008, enterprises in Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech Park submitted more than 3,000 patent applications on integrated circuits.
