Guangdong uncovered a batch of cases of IPR violations

Guangdong provincial administrative organs have investigated 7,943 cases of IPR violations in a special campaign on combating intellectual property infringement and manufacture and trafficking of counterfeit and shoddy commodities, according to information from a press conference convened by Guangdong provincial government on April 8.
By March 31, administrations at all levels in the province have conducted law enforcement activities for 404 times, investigated 7,943 cases involving 1,950 million yuan (in which, there were 163 serious cases and each of them involved over 1 million yuan ), destroyed 626 sites where fake products were produced and confiscated 5.59 million articles, according to Jiang Haiyan, deputy general secretary of Guangdong provincial government.
Jiang said that the special crackdown were significant for promoting the development of relevant industries and purifying market environment.
The special crackdown will be extended to the end of June this year, according to Ma Xianmin, deputy director of Guangdong Intellectual Property Office.
Ma urged relevant departments to enhance IPR promotion, reinforce law enforcement and establish a long-term IPR protection mechanism.
